Petition to change the European Parliament website

Considering that:

  1. the European Parliament does not respect the HTML standard (example)
  2. the web developers of the European Parliament did not change anything after the submission of the Open Parliament petition;
  3. the European Parliament uses the proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing file formats, such as Microsoft Word (DOC), (example), Microsoft Excell (XLS), (example), Microsoft Powerpoint (PPT) (example), MPEG4 (MP4) (example)
  4. the European Parliament uses the proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing file format H264 (H264) (example)
  5. the European Parliament uses the proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing file format Flash Video (FLV) (example)
  6. the European Parliament uses the proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing file format Shockwave Flash (SWF) (example)
  7. the European Parliament uses the proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing protocol Microsoft Media Server (MMS) (example)
  8. the European Parliament uses the proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing protocol Microsoft Windows Video (WMV) (example)

We ask Members of the European Parliament:

  1. to ban the usage of proprietary, patented and royalty-bearing file formats and protocols from the website of the European Parliament, such as:
    1. Microsoft Media Server (MMS)
    2. Microsoft Windows Video (WMV)
